Bhubaneswar: After years of anticipation, the cameras for Odisha’s most ambitious and expensive film, Landfall, finally rolled. The National Award-winning director duo Debi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya, who brought the nationally acclaimed Daman to audiences, are leading this monumental project starring Sabyasachi Mishra and Divyasnata.

The journey to this day has been extraordinary. Following Daman’s success, the duo spent three years in meticulous pre-production—crafting a compelling story, designing massive sets, and planning advanced animation and visual effects. Producer Prabhat Kumar Pradhan emphasized that with a ₹10 crore budget, Landfall is poised to become a landmark in Odia cinema, produced in both Odia and Hindi to reach a wider audience.

Landfall is not just a cinematic spectacle—it’s a story deeply rooted in Odisha’s soul. Cyclones have left emotional scars on generations, and the film aims to capture that pain, resilience, and hope with striking visuals and intense performances. Sabyasachi Mishra, known for his commitment to original Odia stories, will lead the charge, bringing authenticity and gravitas to the role.
As shooting begins, the excitement among the cast and crew is palpable. The director duo expressed their gratitude for the support and blessings, hoping that Lord Jagannath guides the project and helps them create a film that touches every Odia heart. With the cameras now rolling, years of preparation and hard work are finally taking shape, marking the start of what promises to be a historic chapter in Odia cinema.
