Bhubaneswar: After earning accolades at the Kolkata International Film Festival and the Melbourne Film Festival, the much-anticipated Odia film Lahari is set to hit theatres Friday (September 12), with a special premiere scheduled at Cinepolis, Bhubaneswar.
Directed by the award-winning Amartya Bhattacharyya and produced by Jhilik Bhattacharjee under the banner of Jhilik Motion Pictures, Lahari delves into themes of rural life, cultural traditions, tourism development, and the deep emotional ties to one’s roots.
The film also offers a poignant exploration of father-son relationships.
The ensemble cast includes Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Choudhury Bikash Das, Smruti Mahala, Dipanwita Das Mahapatra, Susant Mishra, Hara Rath, Prasenjit, Swastik Choudhury, and Jane Dwyer. Popular actor Devasis Patra features in a guest role, while leading Odia star Babushan Mohanty makes a special cameo appearance.
The film’s music has been composed by Kishalay Roy, with soulful vocals by Gaurav Anand and Navya Jayati.
