Bhubaneswar: The second edition of the Bhubaneswar Film Festival (BFF), organized by the Bhubaneswar Film Circle, wrapped up its four-day run at Jayadev Bhawan with a heartfelt homage to cinematic greats from Odia and Kannada cinema. The event featured retrospectives and drew notable attendees, including the families of legendary filmmakers Jitendra Patnaik and Bijay Mishra.

Opening with Jajabara (1975), Odia cinema’s first digitally colorized film, the festival highlighted timeless works such as Kanakalata (1974), Nirbachana (1994), and Adina Megha, showcasing stories rich in culture, ethics, and social themes. Kannada cinema was represented by Ghatashraddha (1977), a powerful critique of orthodox traditions.

BFF celebrated India’s cinematic heritage, blending nostalgia with critical reflection on the enduring social relevance of these classics.
