Sanjay Mishra to Make Odia Film Debut with 80s-Set Romance This Durga Puja
Bhubaneswar, August 11: The charm of 1980s romance is set to return to the big screen with a new grand-scale film from Auroshree Films, which is scheduled for release during Durga Puja 2026.
Promising a blend of romance, drama and nostalgia, the upcoming film brings together a power-packed cast, including Bollywood actor Sanjay Mishra, along with Maheswata Ray, Akash, Bhoomika, Sanoj, Pragya, Sushant and Krishna Kar.
The film will be directed by Mrutyunjay Sahoo under the banner of Auroshree Films. The makers describe it as a nostalgic romantic entertainer that seeks to recreate the timeless emotions and distinctive flavour of 1980s romance for contemporary audiences.
The shooting of the yet-to-be-titled film already underway. With its ensemble cast and retro-inspired romantic theme, the movie is being positioned as one of the major releases lined up for the Durga Puja festive season this year.
The makers have teased the film with the tagline, “80s Romance is Back”, promising audiences a nostalgic cinematic ride filled with romance, drama and the unmistakable vibes of the era.
