Pushpa 2 will be shot in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Odisha has long been a hush hush subject in the national discourse. Though the state has enough beauty and natural treasures, the majority of people in India and abroad are yet to duscover the natural riches and tourism treasures of Odisha.

Now, news has come in that Allu Arjun- starrer upcoming film ‘Pushpa 2 will be shot in the Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district. The state government of Odisha has worked hard to convert the once poverty stricken district of Malkangiri to an aspirational district or Swabhiman Anchal.

Pushpaa 2 will reportedly be shot at different locations of Swabhiman Anchal and in Saptadhara of Malkangiri district. The production house Mythri Movie Makers after selecting locations has written to Malkangiri Collector Vishal Singh and Superintendent of Police (SP) Nitesh Wadhwani seeking their permission for the shooting of the film. The news has spread cheer among the movie lovers in the state.

A six-member team led by the director of the movie Sukumar, production manager of Mythri Movie Makers, visited Hantalaguda, Sarkubandha hanging bridge, Chitrakonda spillway and other locations of the area ahead of the shooting.

They met the district Collector and SP to seek permission for the shooting, which is likely to start by the first week of May. They also assured the officials regarding adherence to rules and regulations during the shooting.

Recently, the production house released the poster and teaser of the upcoming movie. The much-awaited movie is likely to hit the theatres in late 2023 or early 2024.
