Producers felicitate Pratikshya director and actors for winning the national award

A day after the Jury of the 69th National Film Awards declared Odia Movie Pratikshya as the Best Odia Film, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, filmmakers and members of film industry continues to appreciate the makers of the movie for  their achievement.
Congratulating the makers Film producers Sacchikanta Jena, Sridhar Martha, media planner Pranay Jethi and others felicitated movie director Anupam Patnaik, actor Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, actress Barsha Patnaik Friday.
The movie is directed by  Anupam Patnaik and produced under Amiya Patnaik Productions.
Reacting to the win Anupam Patnaik said that it’s an honour for us to win this award and motivate us to work more and make more good movies. He said that my father Late Amiya Patnaik had also won national award for his movie Hakimbabu and I feel proud to achieve his feat with my movie.
Inspired by a short story by writer Gourahari Das, Pratikshya is the story of Sanjay, a boy from a middle class family who is on the lookout for a government job, a few months before his father retires. His father, Bipin, is insistent that he find a job, as the family has debts, and Bipin is also diagnosed with a terminal illness. Sanjay learns about the Government’s scheme of compassionate appointment where a family member gets the job of the deceased government employee. A frustrated Sanjay waits for his father’s death only to realise his disturbing mind. It is a film about family, especially about the complex relationships fathers and sons have. The movie starred Dipanwit Dashmohapatra and Choudhury Jay Prakash Das, Barsha Patnaik in lead roles.
Recently at International Film Festival of India (IFFI) actor Anupam Kher announced spontaneously that he will make Pratikshya in Hindi, where he will be playing the role of the father. He gave Patnaik a token signing amount for the rights of the film.
