Bhubaneswar: The mega rural fair Sisir Saras–2026, being held at the IDCO Exhibition Grounds in the capital city under the joint sponsorship of ORMAS and Subhadra Shakti, witnessed an unprecedented turnout on Sunday evening.

The massive public response was driven by visitors’ enthusiasm for the wide range of rural products showcased at the stalls, keen interest in Odisha’s traditional handloom and handicrafts, and the irresistible aroma and variety of delicacies served at the food courts. These attractions together drew thousands of people to the fairgrounds.

Considering the growing public demand, ORMAS has decided to extend the fair by two additional days. Originally scheduled to conclude on Sunday, Sisir Saras–2026 will now continue through Monday and Tuesday.
On Sunday evening, visitors thronged the venue, purchasing household items and rural products while also relishing a wide variety of traditional and regional cuisines available at the food stalls.

Adding vibrancy to the festive atmosphere, artists presented a lively blend of modern and traditional dance and music performances on the main stage, keeping the audience thoroughly engaged. Braving the winter chill, the crowd was spellbound by the musical performance of the band ‘Nirbak’, led by popular Odia actress and singer Prakruti Mishra.

The evening was further enlivened by a humorous performance from renowned Odia comedian Pragyan Ojha, which kept the audience laughing throughout.
With its vibrant display of handicrafts, handloom products, indigenous cuisine, and Odisha’s rich cultural traditions, Sisir Saras–2026 has established itself as one of the largest and most popular rural fairs in the country.
