Lahari: Special Show for Media

Bhubaneswar: The much-talked-about Odia film Lahari is set to release on September 12. Ahead of its release, a special screening was organized at PVR Cinemas, Kalpana Kanika Galleria Mall, exclusively for media representatives.

Many senior media personalities were present, including Himanshu Shekhar Khatua, Dilip Hali, Shyamaprasad Mishra, Madhav Behura, Amitabh Khilar, Kedar Prusty, Sanu Rath, Shib Prasad Bishwal, Sudipta Bishwal, Manoranjan Mohanty, Jyoti Prakash Sahu, Saroj Bal, Shakti Mohanty, Sthit Patnaik, Shubhranshu Panda, Atish Mohanty, RJ KP, and RJ Guddi, among others.

After receiving appreciation at the Kolkata International Film Festival and Melbourne Film Festival, Lahari is now ready for theatrical release on September 12. The film portrays the essence of the land, cultural heritage, and tourism development, focusing on social values, human connections, and the father-son relationship.

The film is directed by Amartya Bhattacharyya, an internationally acclaimed and National Award-winning filmmaker, and produced by Jhilik Bhattacharjee, a popular Odia actress and noted young producer. The cast includes Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Choudhury Bikash Das, Smruti Mohla, Dipanwita Das Mahapatra, Sushant Mishra, Har Rath, Prasenjit, Swastik Choudhury, and Zeinab Doyar. Popular actor Debashis Patra appears in a guest role, while superstar Babushan Mohanty plays a significant role.

Music is composed by Kishalay Ray, with vocals by Gaurav Anand and Navya Jaiti. The song “Jhiara Skurta Dhila..” is currently trending. Sound design is by Adeep Singh Manik. Presented by Jhilik Motion Pictures, the film’s direction, story, lyrics, choreography, and editing have all been handled by Amartya.

Media representatives commented that the film strikes a perfect balance between artistic and commercial appeal.
