Get ready to see actress Elina Samantaray in different avatars

Popular Odia actress Elina Samantaray known for her roles in movies such as Ishq Tu Hi Tu, Abhaya, Jaga Hatare Pagha, Kehi Nuhen Kahara, Drustikona among others is ready with her new movie Priye Tu Mo Siye opposite to actor Amlan Das. The movie, directed by Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo and produced by Jhilik Bhattacharjee’s production house Jhilik Motion Pictures will be released across the state June 29.

Talking to Odia Celebrity, Elina said that the movie is a commercial love story with a valuable message on caste-based discrimination which is still a reality in the society. Talking about her experience of working with Amlan, she said that he had been a very hardworking actor. She said that working with him gave her good positive energy to work and act.

She added this was her second time to work with with director Sudhanshu after Happy Lucky. She said that he knew how to let actors act and let actors improvise. “I learnt a lot from him. Moreover I had also worked with Jhilik as co actor in two movies Jaga Hatare Pagha,and This Is Maya Re Baya . This is the first time I am working under her production, she is very supportive and also a good friend.”

Elina is recently also seen in reality show Raja Queen in Zee Sarthak as judge. Elina came into the industry in 2014 through a reality show Mu Bhi Heroine Hebi in Tarang and got her first movie Ishq Tu Hi Tu opposite Arindam Roy released in 2015.

She said that reality show such as Raja Queen and Mu Bhi Heroine Hebi gave her and other artistes a good platform to showcase their talent. Raja Queen not only gave platform for the entertainment industry but also gave platform to others who wanted to excel in other sectors.

Elina will complete 10 years next year. Talking about her career she said that she had done many roles in her career and she felt very inspired of coming this far. She said that entering the film was not a planned thing for her. In fact, she was more into academic than acting. “During my time in Ravenshaw, I went to reality show Mu Bhi Heroine Hebi for encouraging the senior who are participating, but rather they pushed me to give the audition. I portrayed a scene of Karenna Kappor from Jab we met and due to that I got selected and rest is history.”

She also talked about her another movie Pratisodh in which she will be in an action role for the first time. “The movie had multiple fight scenes and for this movie, I had done many days of training to prepare. For the movie fight scenes, the fight choreographer from South had choreographed the fight scenes and also trained me. I used to get injured every single day while doing fights scene. The shooting of the movie is completed and very soon release dates will be announced. This is one of the challenging roles of my life,” she said.
