First Look of Subhasis Sharma and Jayshree Sarangi from ‘Bara Badhu’ Unveiled

Bhubaneswar: The makers of the upcoming Odia film Bara Badhu on Saturday unveiled another striking first look from the movie, introducing Subhasis Sharma and Jayshree Sarangi as Sukla and Gita.

Sharing the new look, the makers wrote, “Introducing Sukla & Gita… Innocent eyes, fragile hearts. Will the hunger of need break them, or will loyalty define them?” The caption, along with the visual, hints at an emotionally layered storyline revolving around vulnerability, struggle, and moral choices, adding further depth to the film’s narrative.

This latest reveal comes after the makers recently shared multiple character posters from the film. Earlier, the first look of lead actors Sivani Sangita and Sailendra as Suman and Biju was unveiled with the tagline, “When opposites find love. One story gets created,” highlighting the central romantic arc.

The team also introduced Suryamayee Mohapatra and Hara Rath as Juli and Bipina, describing them as “Partners in crime,” suggesting a fun and mischievous track running parallel to the emotional core of the film.

The makers have already announced that Bara Badhu will release in cinema halls across Odisha on February 13, coinciding with the Valentine’s Day weekend. The release date was officially revealed on Makar Sankranti, with the team stating, “On this auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, our new journey begins.” The posters released so far collectively point to a story rooted in love, emotions, and Odia traditions, while also exploring different shades of human relationships.

The film features an ensemble cast including Subhasis Sharma, Sailendra Samantaray, Suryamayee Mohapatra, Sivani Sangita, Jayshree Sarangi, and Hara Rath, among others.

Bara Badhu is produced under the banner of The Useful Garbage Creations, in association with Country Boyz Studios and Sharpline Film Pvt. Ltd., and is presented by Chandra Mani. It will be released by Prakash Films.

The film is directed by Beeswaranjan and produced by Chandra Mani, with Beeswaranjan and Sushil Kumar Mishra serving as co-producers.

The technical team includes Bljitesh Dey as cinematographer, Beeswaranjan handling story, screenplay and dialogues, music by Gaurav Anand and Bharat–Hitarth, editing by Dipika Kalra, and sound design by Nihar Samal.

With each new character reveal, Bara Badhu continues to build anticipation ahead of its Valentine’s Day release, promising a blend of romance, emotion, and social realism rooted in Odia culture.
