Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s film enthusiasts are in for a spine-chilling cinematic ride this November as the first look of Darpana: The Mirror was unveiled on the Sidharth Music YouTube channel. The film, produced by Dillip Kumar Sahoo under the banner of Syon Production House, is slated for a grand release on November 21.
Directed by Bharat Pusparag and Anand Kumar, Darpana: The Mirror promises to be a unique blend of horror, suspense — a rare mix in Odia cinema.
The story revolves around a mirror that turns from a mundane household object into a horrifying portal when a terrifying face appears in place of one’s own reflection. This eerie twist forms the backbone of a chilling narrative that keeps the audience hooked with unpredictable turns and dark humor.
The film features Bharat Pusparag, Aankit Kumar, Trupti Mirambika, Hiranmayee Das, Ranu Padhi, Pradyumna Lenka, and Kali Charan Acharya, with Aankit Kumar and Prartharthi Mirayika leading the ensemble in gripping roles.
Shot across picturesque locations in Odisha, Darjeeling, and Nepal, the film juxtaposes haunting visuals with scenic beauty, creating an atmospheric experience for viewers.
Music by Baidyanath Dash and Tunu Patnaik, with vocals by Aseema Panda, Humane Sagar, Antara Chakraborty, Ananya Sritam Nanda, and Navya, adds an emotional and dramatic layer to the narrative. The film also features dialogues by Kamesh Shukla and dance direction by Sudhakar Basant.
