Bhubaneswar: Bollywood actress Dia Mirza participated in the Fashion show during the two day Bhadrak Handloom Summit. Dia Mirza wear the Sambalpuri saree during fashion show at Bargarh Handloom Summit 2024, which kicked off recently.

The Handloom, Textile and Handicraft department shared the vide of fashion show said” The Fashion Show of Bargarh Handloom Summit 2024 showcased seamless integration of handloom into contemporary fashion. Graced by Bollywood actress Dia Mirza, fashion icons, students & top designers, the runway presented a spectacle that merged tradition with modernity.
The two-day summit is being jointly organised by Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Department, Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) and district administration in Bargarh, a major hub of handloom products. The theme of this year’s summit is ‘A Weave of Culture and Legacy’. Over thousands of stakeholders from across the country, including exhibitors from 20 states, are participating in the event celebrating the handloom heritage.
The main objective of the summit is to introduce handloom products like Bomkai, Pashapali, Habaspuri, Sonpuri, Sambalpuri Bandha and Ikat at the national level and provide a platform to weavers to popularise new innovative designs. ‘Bandha Kala’ (tie and dye) work of Bargarh is the main highlight of the event. It also witnessed a buyer-seller interaction and signing of agreements to drive the growth of the handloom industry.
Dia Mirza is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films. She won the title of Miss Asia Pacific International in 2000 after being crowned Femina Miss India Asia Pacific 2000. She made her acting debut with the film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.
She subsequently featured in films including Dus (2005), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007) and Sanju (2018). She co-owned a production house, Born Free Entertainment, with her ex-husband Sahil Sangha. Their first film, Love Breakups Zindagi,was released on 7 October 2011. After their divorce, she launched her own production house, One India Stories in 2019. She also starred in the web series Kaafir in 2019.
