Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia actress and producer Jhilik Bhattacharjee has expressed heartfelt gratitude to superstar Babushaan Mohanty for his generous gesture of appearing in her upcoming film Lahari without taking any remuneration.
In an interview, Jhilik revealed, “Babu (Babushaan), who is a very close friend of mine, did not take a penny for his appearance in the movie. He holds a very special place in my life.”
After receiving praise at the Kolkata International Film Festival and the Melbourne Film Festival, Lahari is all set for its theatrical release on September 12. The official trailer of the movie was launched on Saturday on the Amara Muzic YouTube channel.
The film, directed by internationally acclaimed and National Award-winning filmmaker Amartya Bhattacharyya, explores the essence of staying connected to one’s roots and portrays a heartfelt father-son relationship intertwined with moments of laughter and tears.
Produced under Jhilik Motion Pictures, the film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Choudhury Bikash Das, Smruti Mahala, Dipanwita Das Mahapatra, Sushanta Mishra, Hara Rath, Prosenjit, Swastik Choudhury, and Zainab Dwyer.
Music for the film has been composed by Kishalay Roy, with vocals by Gaurav Anand and Navya Jayati, while sound design is by Adip Singh Manik. The story, direction, editing, choreography, and songwriting have all been handled by Amartya Bhattacharyya himself.
Babushaan and Jhilik share a long-standing professional bond, having worked together in popular Odia films like Akhire Akhire, Super Michua, Lekhu Lekhu Lekhi Deli, and Jabardast Premika.
