Bhubaneswar: National Award-winning filmmaker Anupam Patnaik, known for his critically acclaimed Odia movie Pratikshya, is all set to bring another heartfelt story to the big screen with his upcoming film Mantra Muugdha. Currently being shot in Ganjam, the film features a stellar cast including Bhoomika Dash, Suryamayee Mohapatra, Manmay Dey, Sanoj Kumar, Sarthak Bharadwaj, and Dipanwit Das Mohapatra.

The supporting cast includes Hara Rath, Chaudhary Jayaprakash Das, Nishant Majithia, Soma Hota, Bhakti Das, popular television actress Pihu Mohapatra, and digital content creator Mr. Raut.

While sharing his excitement about Mantra Muugdha, Patnaik couldn’t help but recall the emotional journey of Pratikshya, which not only touched hearts but also earned him a National Award and an IFFI selection.

“Some memories stay forever, some friends turn into family, and some journeys give you more than you could ever ask for. For me, Pratikshya has been that journey,” he said. “The love, the recognition, the selection at IFFI, and a National Award!! These are blessings I’ll always hold close. No commercial success can ever compare to what this film has given me, because it was made for the soul, from the heart… not the kitchen.”

Talking about his new film, Patnaik added, “With Mantra Muugdha, I feel the same love and honesty flowing through every frame. It carries a piece of my heart, and I truly hope it finds a place in yours too. I made you cry… and now I’m back to make you cry again — but this time with laughter!”

Pratikshya is a touching tale of a young man struggling with financial and emotional turmoil after his father is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Faced with the dilemma of securing a government job through a compassionate appointment scheme, the film explores themes of family, morality, and survival, earning widespread acclaim and a National Award for its soulful storytelling.

With Mantra Muugdha in the making, audiences can expect another powerful narrative infused with emotion, humor, and authenticity — hallmarks of Anupam Patnaik’s filmmaking.
