Amiya Patnaik Productions Unveils First Look of Mantra Muugdha, Set for January 2026 Release
Bhubaneswar: Amiya Patnaik Productions, one of Odisha’s most visionary production houses, has unveiled the official poster of its much-awaited fantasy-comedy-horror film Mantra Muugdha. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Anupam Patnaik and produced by Barsha Patnaik, the film is set for a grand theatrical release in January 2026.
After redefining Odia cinema with pathbreaking projects like Karma and the National Award-winning Pratikshya—which is currently being remade in Hindi—Anupam Patnaik returns with Mantra Muugdha, a cinematic experience that blends humour, fantasy, and emotion on a scale never before seen in Odia cinema.
Set in a world where superstition and belief intertwine, the film promises to transport audiences into a story that is magical, hilarious, and deeply human.
Shot over 50 days at the majestic Dharakote Palace in Berhampur, Mantra Muugdha showcases Odisha’s rich cultural heritage through grand visual storytelling. The palace’s timeless architecture adds an ethereal charm, merging local traditions with global cinematic aesthetics.
The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Sanoj Kumar, Manmay Dey, debutant Sarthak Bharadwaj, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Hara Rath, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Bhoomika Dash, Suryamayee Mohapatra, Nishant Majithia, Soma Hota, Pihu Mohapatra, and Mr Rout, striking a balance between experienced actors and promising new talent.
Behind the scenes, Patnaik’s core creative team returns to deliver yet another visual treat. The film’s technical crew includes Cinematographer Deepak Kumar, Music Directors Ashish Pradhan, Anurag Patnaik, Sangeet Patnaik, Anurag Panda, and Roumyaj Pradhan, with BGM by Ashish Pradhan and Shrutiprakash Dash. Rashmi Ranjan Dash handles editing, while Shakti Swaroop Dwibedy oversees sound design.
The story, co-written by Anupam Patnaik and Roshan Bisoi, is brought to life through a screenplay by Rohit Gehlot and Anupam Patnaik, dialogues by Pranab Rath, and additional screenplay inputs by Nishant Majithia.
