Countdown Begins: Just 30 Days to Go for Babushaan’s Horror Thriller Bou Buttu Bhuta

Bhubaneswar: The countdown has officially begun for one of the most anticipated Odia horror films of the year—Bou Buttu Bhuta. With just 30 days to go before it hits cinema halls across the state on June 12, excitement is mounting among fans.

Releasing a special “30 Days to Go” poster, the makers declared: “Just 30 days to go. Get ready to face your fears.”

Starring superstar Babushaan Mohanty, the film has wrapped up shooting under the direction of acclaimed filmmaker Jagdish Mishra. Produced by Tripti Satpathy under the Babushaan Films banner, Bou Buttu Bhuta is set to bring a fresh wave of horror to the Odia film industry.

To mark the completion of filming, Babushaan and Tripti shared behind-the-scenes moments from the final shoot day, captioned: “It’s a wrap! See you on June 12.”

The makers had earlier urged fans to “block your dates” with a gripping teaser that offered a haunting glimpse into the eerie world of Bou Buttu Bhuta.

The film features a powerful ensemble cast including Archita and Aparajita Mohanty, alongside Babushaan. Sources close to the production say the movie aims to redefine horror in Odia cinema, blending psychological suspense with traditional folklore.

Production briefly halted earlier this year following the tragic passing of Babushaan’s father, legendary actor Uttam Mohanty, before resuming to finish strong.

Babushaan, who was last seen in the blockbuster Pabar (directed by Ashok Pati), recently clinched the Best Actor award for Daman, which also took home Best Film at the State Film Awards.

Adding to the buzz, Bou Buttu Bhuta marks a long-awaited reunion between Babushaan and Archita, who last appeared together in the 2019 romantic hit Ajab Sanjura Gajab Love.

With a strong creative team, an award-winning lead, and rising fan anticipation, Bou Buttu Bhuta is shaping up to be one of the most exciting cinematic events of 2025.
