Purnatwaya Beuria Eyes Meaningful Roles in Odia Cinema

Bhubaneswar: Actress and trained dancer Purnatwaya Beuria is all set to make her entry into Odia cinema with the upcoming film Pashapali, a movie that explores the intriguing relationship between politics, power and strategy.

Produced by Bikalananda Kar Productions, Pashapali features an ensemble cast that includes Sreemayee Mishra, Poonam Mishra, Raj Rajesh and others. The film is expected to bring together elements of drama, politics and human relationships.

For Beuria, the film marks another important step in a journey that began with dance and gradually led her towards television, music videos and now the big screen.

“I am very excited about the movie. I have a special dance number titled ‘Koraputia Nani’ in the film, and I am looking forward to seeing the audience’s response,” Behuria said while speaking about her upcoming project.

The actress, who entered the entertainment industry in 2025, credits her family for playing a major role in her journey. A student of Education Honours at Rajdhani College in Bhubaneswar, Behuria says dancing has been an integral part of her life since childhood.
“I have always loved dancing, and my parents and elder sister have supported me immensely throughout my journey,” she said.

Her journey in the entertainment industry gained momentum when she participated in Rajo Sundari on Sidharth TV, where she emerged as a finalist in 2025. The experience gave her an opportunity to perform before a wider audience and helped her take her first steps towards a career in front of the camera.

For Beuria, the love for dance began at home. “When I was little, my sister and my mother were the first ones who taught me dance at home. From those childhood days, I always had one dream — to see my family watching me on TV someday,” she recalled.

Following her Rajo Sundari appearance, Beuria went on to feature in several music videos, including Baja Nagin DJ Wala, Haladi Pani and Dharmapatni. Each project, she says, has contributed to her learning and growth as a performer.

“My journey has been full of struggles, learning and growth,” she said.
Now, with Pashapali, Behuria is looking forward to exploring a new side of her artistic journey. While dance remains close to her heart, acting has opened up new possibilities for the young performer.

“I dream of playing the lead role in a beautiful film, portraying a strong, positive and meaningful character that leaves a lasting impact on the audience,” she said.
For Beuria, the biggest motivation remains the audience itself.

“I love working for the audience and performing in front of the camera. Connecting with people through my work brings me immense happiness,” she added.

With Pashapali, Purnatwaya Beuria is taking her first steps into Odia cinema, carrying with her the experience of dance, television and music videos — and a dream of building a lasting place for herself in the industry.
