Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Jyotirmayee Nayak has emerged as the winner of Indian Idol Season 16, creating a proud moment for the state. She lifted the coveted trophy after delivering a series of powerful performances throughout the competition, including a memorable rendition of Saiyaan O Saiyaan in the grand finale.

Jyotirmayee defeated five other finalists to claim the title, while Tanishk Shukla finished as the runner-up. Along with the trophy, she also received a cash prize of ₹20 lakh. Her victory has been widely celebrated across Odisha, with fans and well-wishers congratulating the young singer for bringing national recognition to the state.

Soon after her victory, congratulatory messages poured in from across the country. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated Jyotirmayee on social media, describing her as the state’s “worthy daughter” and praising her for bringing pride to Odisha. KIIT founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta also extended his wishes, recalling that she had already made history by becoming the first Odia singer to reach the show’s grand finale.

Several Odia singers, actors, musicians, fans and cultural personalities also celebrated the achievement through social media posts, hailing Jyotirmayee’s victory as a landmark moment for Odisha’s music industry. .
