‘Bou Buttu Bhuta’ Shines at INCA Awards 2026, Brings Glory to Odia Cinema

Mumbai: Odia cinema made a strong mark on the national stage as Bou Buttu Bhuta emerged as one of the standout winners at the prestigious INCA Awards 2026, held in Mumbai on April 16.

Organised by the Producers Guild of India, the awards celebrated excellence across 12 Indian film industries, bringing together top talents from across the country.

The Odia film Bou Buttu Bhuta bagged multiple honours, underlining its impact and popularity. Actor Babushaan Mohanty earned recognition in the Best Actor category, while Archita Sahu was awarded Best Actress for her performance in the film. The film itself also received the Best Film award in the Odia category, produced under Babushaan Films.

In the direction category, Sabyasachi Mohapatra and Kumar C Dev Mohapatra were honoured for their work in Ananta, adding further pride to the Odia film fraternity.

Expressing gratitude after the win, the team of Bou Buttu Bhuta thanked the entire cast and crew, along with key contributors including Jagdish Mishra, Prashant Behera, Sidharth Music, and Prakash Films, for their support in making the project a success. The makers dedicated the achievement to the people of Odisha, calling it a proud moment for the state’s film industry.

The Indian National Cine Academy Awards, now in their 16th edition, are regarded as one of India’s most inclusive cinema platforms, featuring over 70 awards across 25 categories. This year’s ceremony also honoured legends like Kamal Haasan and Javed Akhtar with Lifetime Achievement Awards.

With this recognition, Bou Buttu Bhuta has not only elevated Odia cinema on a national platform but also reaffirmed the growing influence and talent emerging from the state’s film industry.
