‘Ishq Traffic’ Finally Gets Release Date; Odia Film Set to Hit Screens on May 8

Bhubaneswar: After months of anticipation, the Odia film Ishq Traffic has finally locked its theatrical release date. The movie, which had been awaiting release for several months, is now scheduled to hit cinemas on May 8, 2026, bringing relief and excitement to fans and the film’s team.

Presented by Green Chilies Entertainment, Ishq Traffic had earlier generated buzz with the release of its glimpse and music last year. The film’s soundtrack, launched on Aamara Music.

The musical album received appreciation for its variety and youthful appeal.

Directed by Rohanajeet Das, the film features music composed by popular youth-favorite Asad Nizam. The lyrics are penned by Tapu Nayak, Ranjan Nayak, Pushpak Parida, and Asad Nizam. The songs are rendered by leading singers including Human Sagar, Mantu Chhuria, Kuldeep Pattnaik, Asima Panda, Satyajit Pradhan, and Abhinash.

The film boasts seven tracks spanning multiple genres, including a theme song, dance number, romantic duet, item song, Sufi melody, and a heartbreak number, offering a diverse musical experience. Choreography for the songs has been handled by Amit, Firoz, and Rohit.

The film revolves around an emotional story centered on a mother, her son, and an uncle. Newcomer Prem plays the male lead, while popular comedian-actor Papu Pom Pom appears in a significant role, expected to be a major highlight. The supporting cast includes Pushpa Panda, Manaswini Pati, Chaudhury Jayaprakash Das, Jiban Panda, Santu Nijey, Mahaprasad Kar, Naina Nath, Priyanka Sahu, Arpita Sahu, Anna Comedy, Bapi Comedy, Kalia, Sudhir Barik, and Bekaria Nook.

The story and dialogues are written by Subhranshu Bishwal. Cinematography is handled by Om Parth Jeet, with editing by Rajesh Das. Promotions for the film are being led by Haraprasad Mahapatra.
