Poster of Dandakali Unveiled; Film Celebrates Berhampur’s Sacred Tradition

Bhubaneswar: The poster of the much-anticipated Odia film Dandakali was officially unveiled at a grand ceremony held at Hotel Prachi.

The event witnessed the presence of the film’s cast and crew along with several distinguished guests from political and cultural circles.

Among the chief guests were Commerce, Transport, Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena and Fisheries, Animal Resources and MSME Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik. Khallikote MLA Purna Chandra Sethi attended as the guest of honour.

During the event, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of preserving the ancient Dandakali tradition of Berhampur, which forms the core theme of the film.

The film narrates a story rooted in tradition and faith. Presented by Rajashree Cine Crafts, Dandakali is produced by Rajashree Ghosh and directed by stylist filmmaker Sudhanshu Mohan Sahu.

The story has been written by Abhisikta Mishra, while the music is composed by “music scientist” Prem Anand using lyrics by Dr. Nirmal Nayak and Bapu Goswami. Cinematography is handled by Deepak Kumar, and screenplay and dialogues are penned by senior writer Dilip Choudhury.

The film features a strong ensemble cast including superstar Sidhant Mohapatra, Mahasweta Ray, Krishna Kar, Suryamayee Mohapatra, Usasi Mishra, Jayaprakash Das, Amar Mahapatra, Udit Guru, Elly Padhi, Tripti Mirambika, Chitrasen, Gurudev Maharathi, Pritiranjan, Anna, Nihar Samal, along with child artists Hansraj and Dhun.

Notably, theatre personality Chitrasen will be introduced as a lead actor in the film for the first time. According to the production house, the movie is scheduled to go on floors next week, raising anticipation among Odia cinema lovers.
