Mystery, Investigation and Silence Collide in Upcoming Odia Thriller ‘Memshab’

Bhubaneswar: An intense tale of mystery, investigation and psychological tension is set to unfold on the big screen with the upcoming Odia film Memshab, slated for release on May 8, 2026.

Positioned as a gripping investigative suspense thriller, the film revolves around a secluded tea estate bungalow where silence itself becomes a clue. What initially appears to be a calm and ordinary setting slowly gradually transforms into a web of strange occurrences, raising unsettling questions at every turn.

As the narrative progresses, it delves deeper into an intricate investigation, intertwining a past incident, hidden truths, and multiple unanswered questions.

Actor Priya Choudhury plays Sophie, a quiet woman with a mysterious past, bringing depth to a character layered with secrecy. The film also features Sambhav Mansingh as Nikhil, Chittaranjan Tripathy as Avinash, and Choudhury Jayaprakash Das as investigator Nrusingha Charan Pati.

The presence of the investigative lead adds weight and intrigue to the storyline, driving the narrative forward.

Directed by Biswabhusan Mahapatra and Kali Prasad Mishra, Memshab aims to stand apart from conventional thrillers by blending investigation, psychological tension, and layered storytelling.

The story, screenplay, and dialogues have been penned by Amit Kumar Dash, while cinematography is handled by Mahapatra himself.

The editing team, comprising Rashmi Ranjan Dash and Biswa Ranjan Subuddhi, promises a tightly paced narrative. Musically, the film is backed by compositions from Abhijit Tripathy and Bunny Mohanty, expected to heighten both the emotional and suspenseful elements.
