Padma Shri Prafulla Kar’s Enduring Musical Legacy Inspires Youth: Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj

Bhubaneswar – In a heartfelt tribute to one of Odisha’s legendary musicians, a statue of the eminent Padma Shri awardee Prafulla Kar was unveiled today at Rabindra Mandap under the auspices of the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture.

The event coincided with the birth anniversary of Padma Shri Prafulla Kar, with Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj presiding over the ceremony and offering his respects to the late maestro.

Minister Suraj said, “The music of the legendary Prafulla Kar remains unforgettable among audiences across Odisha. Through his compositions and musical direction, he carved a distinct place for himself while enriching the Odia musical landscape. His immense talent and melodious journey serve as an ideal for the younger generation, and his musical creations will surely inspire young musicians for years to come.”

The ceremony was attended by senior officials and members of Padma Shri Prafulla Kar’s family.
