Odisha CM Declares Hindi Film Godan Tax-Free

Bhubaneswar, February 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday watched the premiere of the Hindi feature film Godan at his official residence in Bhubaneswar and announced that the film would be made tax-free across the state.

Addressing the media after the screening, the Chief Minister also revealed plans to establish a Cow Research Centre in Odisha, aimed at promoting research and awareness related to indigenous cattle and traditional practices.

Describing Godan as a socially relevant and value-driven film, Majhi said it is a complete family entertainer that strengthens family bonds and conveys the core values of Sanatan Dharma. He noted that such films are especially important in contemporary times as they promote cultural understanding and social consciousness.

The Chief Minister praised the film for its strong message, cultural ethos and emphasis on family values, stating that cinema like Godan plays a vital role in shaping societal attitudes.

Calling upon the younger generation, Majhi urged people to watch the film with their families and give priority to cultural and ethical values in everyday life.

The premiere event, held ahead of the film’s theatrical release on February 6, was attended by Mining and Steel Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, film director and producer Binod Kumar Choudhury, several MLAs and other distinguished guests.
