Ollywood Stars Walk the Ramp at Fashion Show Organised at Sisir Saras

Bhubaneswar: Popular Ollywood stars stole the spotlight as they walked the ramp at a special handloom fashion show organised during Sisir Saras–2026 at the exhibition ground here on Friday evening.

The fashion show, titled ‘Swa-Tant’, was jointly organised by ORMAS and Subhadra Shaktipaksha with the objective of showcasing Odisha’s rich handloom heritage through contemporary fashion.

Renowned Ollywood actors Suryamayee Mohapatra, Prakruti Mishra, Swapna Priyadarsini , Baisali and other models dazzled the audience as they walked the ramp wearing elegant handloom ensembles. Their presence added glamour and visibility to the event, drawing enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

The fashion show featured a vibrant collection inspired by traditional Odia textiles such as Sonepuri handloom, Kotpad fabrics, Dhokra craft elements, and Dongria embroidery, all reinterpreted in modern silhouettes. Around 30 models participated in the ramp walk, presenting handloom as a stylish and contemporary fashion choice suitable for modern lifestyles.

Designers from across Odisha specially curated outfits for the event, blending natural colours, traditional motifs, and indigenous craftsmanship. The initiative aimed to create market linkages for artisans while promoting sustainable and culturally rooted fashion.

The ‘Swa-Tant’ fashion show successfully highlighted how Odisha’s traditional handloom can evolve with modern design sensibilities. Carrying the message “Inherited from the past, designed for the future,” the event received wide appreciation and emerged as one of the key attractions of Shishir Saras–2026.
