Silver Jubilee of Shri Guru Bhagawat Celebrated with Global Devotion and Cultural Splendor

Bhubaneswar: The Silver Jubilee of Shri Guru Bhagawat, a revered scripture authored by Revered Gurujee Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, was celebrated with grandeur and spiritual fervor across India and abroad. The scripture, first released on Kartik Purnima (November 30, 2001), has since become a spiritual beacon inspiring millions through its universal message of devotion, mentorship, and self-realization.

Marking 25 glorious years, the Shri Guru Bhagawat Utsav was held at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar, symbolizing a momentous milestone in the scripture’s spiritual journey and global influence.

Governor Inaugurates the Silver Jubilee Celebration

The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Dr. Kambhampati Hari Babu, alongside Revered Gurujee Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
A Welcome Address was delivered by Additional Chief Secretary Sri Satyabrata Sahu, IAS, followed by a Scriptural Introduction by Professor Harekrushna Satpathy, who eloquently presented the philosophical and spiritual essence of Shri Guru Bhagawat.

A key highlight of the event was the launch of “Shri Guru Bhagavatam – Part 2”, a newly constructed second volume unveiled by the Hon’ble Governor and Gurujee, marking a significant evolution in the scripture’s journey.

Devotees in Australia (Sydney, Perth), New Zealand (Auckland), and the United States (Seattle, Dallas, Chicago) participated in Parayan (scriptural recitation), symbolizing unity in faith and devotion.

These global observances echoed the scripture’s universal message—“Unity in diversity, reverence for wisdom, and the eternal bond between Guru and Shishya.”

Kartika Purnima: The Sacred Connection

Kartika Purnima, deeply rooted in Odisha’s cultural ethos, celebrates the maritime glory of ancient Sadhabas—Odia traders and explorers who once sailed to Bali, Java, and Sumatra. The festival of Balijatra, marked by Boita Bandana (floating miniature boats), honors this spirit of exploration and cultural exchange.

It was on this auspicious day in 2001 that Shri Guru Bhagawat was first unveiled, symbolizing a spiritual voyage paralleling the Sadhabas’ physical one.

While Balijatra celebrates the outward journey of discovery, Shri Guru Bhagawat inspires the inward journey of self-realization and divine awakening—together reflecting Odisha’s harmonious blend of culture and spirituality.
