“Trushna” to Premiere on Odisha’s First OTT Platform AAO NXT from July 24

Bhubaneswar: The much-anticipated Odia film “Trushna”, produced by Amara Studio and written and directed by Suresh Pattnaik, is set to premiere on July 24 on Odisha’s first independent and popular OTT platform, “AAO NXT”, following its successful theatrical release.

The story of “Trushna” revolves around the hopes, dreams, and disappointments of four individuals. Each of them is on a quest for their own creative aspirations. The narrative explores their struggles in pursuing those dreams.

The story begins on a dark note—with the unexpected suicide of a young girl, overwhelmed by academic pressure—but gradually unfolds into a journey of hope and reconnection with life. It can be seen as a positive transformation from despair to optimism.

The film explores whether, in a society where wealth is the standard for respect, an artist can remain true to their art or become just another means of entertainment. This dilemma drives the narrative of “Trushna.”
Characters named Juli, Ankit, Sikha, Jatin, and Anand portray individuals holding onto their hopes and dreams despite facing setbacks and disappointments. Though initially disconnected and unknown to each other, they are eventually brought together by a shared longing for life and purpose—this is the essence of “Trushna.”

Featuring powerful performances by Abhishek Giri, Shailendra, Bighnesh, Jyoti Panda, Samaresh, Pradyumna Lenka, Lipsa Mishra, and Suramayee, the film has left a strong impression on audiences.

The songs have been penned by Dr. Nirmal Nayak and Kumarshree Sahu, while Abhijit Majumdar has composed the music. Vocals have been provided by Swoyam Padhy, Gaurav Anand, Kuldeep, Ishwari, and Roopak, among others.
